Before creating your first test, you need to set up your School Profile, and a Test Subject. To access or create a Test Subject, press the Teacher menu, followed by the Tests sub menu, and finally the Test Subjects sub menu as shown above in the application.
The top portion of the Test Subjects screen is then displayed as shown below.
To create a test subject, press the NEW TEST SUBJECT button. This will display the New Test Subject screen as shown below.
The following describes each field 1 through 2 and how it is used in the application. All fields preceded with an * indicates a mandatory field.
(1) Test Subject Name is a unique test subject in which a test or project is associated.
(2) Test Subject Name Description is a detailed explanation of your Test Subject Name that will help better identify the subject such as grade level or class level (Regular, AP, Honors, etc) applicability.
The following describes each field 3 through 9 and how it is used in the application. All fields preceded with an * indicates a mandatory field. The 9 test and project type categories must in total equal 0 or 100. A total of 0 means the test subject will not be weighed, and 100 means the test subject will be weighed. These values come into play when running student progress reports and report cards.
(3) (Test) Quizzes must be a value between 0 - 100 selected by pressing the dropdown list.
(4) (Test) Tests must be a value between 0 - 100 selected by pressing the dropdown list.
(5) (Test) Exams must be a value between 0 - 100 selected by pressing the dropdown list.
(6) (Project) Classwork must be a value between 0 - 100 selected by pressing the dropdown list.
(7) (Project) Book Reports must be a value between 0 - 100 selected by pressing the dropdown list.
(8) (Project) Research Essays must be a value between 0 - 100 selected by pressing the dropdown list.
(9) (Project) Presentations must be a value between 0 - 100 selected by pressing the dropdown list.
The following describes field 10 and how it is used in the application.
(10) Total Weight as indicated in red is the sum of the 9 test and project type categories. The value must equal 0 or 100.
The following describes each field 11 through 13 and how it is used in the application.
(11) To save the Test Subject, press the Save button. A message will display indicating that the test subject was saved successfully.
(12) Reset Values when pressed will set all 9 test and project type categories to 0.
(13) Back when pressed will send you back to the previous screen.
The following describes each field 14 through 18 and how it is used in the application. Upon returning to the previous screen or entering the screen from the menu, you will see a list of your existing test subjects. From the list, you can edit or delete a test subject.
(14) Show entries when pressed presents a dropdown list with the values of 10, 25, 50, and 100. The number selected will translate to the number of test subject entries displayed on the screen.
(15) Search can be any value that when entered will filter only those test subjects where a match is found in the columns.
(16) Edit when pressed will take you to the Edit Test Subject screen where you can then update the existing test subject. Note: Because a test or project can already be assigned to this test subject, the Test Subject Name cannot be altered.
(17) Delete when pressed will delete the test subject. Note: If a test or project is already assigned to the test subject, a message will display indicating that the test subject cannot be deleted. If the test subject is not assigned, a message will display indicating that the test subject was deleted successfully.
(18) Pagination when pressed will allow you to navigate to the Previous, individual numbered, or Next page of test subjects. If 10 or less test subjects exist or 10 test subjects are displayed based on the minimal value of 10 in the Show entries field, then the pagination will display just 1 page and the pagination will be disabled. If multiple pages exist, then the Previous, individual numbered, and Next buttons will be available for navigation.
